Yoga Vacation

Gabriela was first introduced to yoga at the Ashram of Siddha Yoga in Ganespuri in 1991. Since then she had the opportunity to study with Angela Farmer, Victor Van Kooten, Gabriela Gubilaro, Lolli Font, Ana Forrest, Dona Fahri, Toni Montez and John Friend among other teachers.

In the mid nineties she met Donna Holleman and Orit Sen Gupta. She did her yoga training with them for five summers in Berkeley California. She stayed and practiced with her teachers at their homes in Jerusalem and Florence. Through those years she also met frequently with her study group in Mexico led by Herta Rogg.

In 1997 she co-founded a holistic center in Cuernavaca Mexico.

She has a special respect for John Friend and Orit Sen Gupta who taught her how to practice and understand yoga from inside and the joy of an open heart.

She became Buddhist in 2002. Her greatest passion in yoga is to reveal the natural mind on the mat itself. She is very intrigued about the connection of the energy body with the way construct our reality. She lives now in Tantallon, Nova Scotia with her two young daughters and her husband.

Her Teaching

She has blended in her own style the teaching she has received and her own insights. However she follows Orit Sen Gupta's Curriculum that integrates Iyengar yoga, a method that carefully aligns carefully aligns the body - and astangha yoga - a way to follow a series of poses in a intense flow.

Although she does not teach meditation explicitly her teaching in impregnated on her own practice of meditation.

She assesses students on individual basis trying to reach students where they are and adapting the poses and rhythm to them. She frequently adjusts manually. She feels that each class is unique like a one time creation the meeting of the teacher and the students as they are at the particular moment. She tries more and more to maintain a strong personal practice and let the teaching happening by watching who is there in the room. She likes her classes to be relax with room for laughing and even chatting and very serious in the intention to intensify the mind and transform the body.

She loves sharing yoga with others and is very greatful to her students to be there open and available.
